Quick Jobs

Entry-level haulage. The depot rents a truck for the run.

  1. Drive to the Trucking Depot blip.
  2. Talk to the dispatcher via ox_target.
  3. Open the contract board and accept a Quick Job. The company spawns a Hauler and trailer at the fixed depot spawn point.
  4. Drive to the pickup location and back into the trailer to hook it up.
  5. Deliver the cargo to the destination and press H to unload.
  6. Return the company truck to the depot. Interact with Return Truck and Collect Pay on the truck.
  7. Payment is added to your trucking balance.
  8. Open the in-NUI Bank page to withdraw the balance to cash.

Quick Jobs do not require an owned truck, but they do require CDL Class B.

Freight Contracts

Mid and high-tier jobs requiring an owned truck.

  1. Take out a truck from your garage at the depot (ox_target option Take Out Truck).
  2. Talk to the dispatcher and accept a Freight contract.
  3. Drive to the pickup, hook the configured trailer, deliver to the dropoff.
  4. Payment is added to your trucking balance immediately on delivery.
  5. Drive back to the depot and store your truck (ox_target Store Truck) so it returns to the garage with its current condition saved.
  6. Withdraw earnings from the Bank page when ready.

Trucking balance vs cash

All earnings — Quick Jobs and Freight — accrue to a per-character trucking balance. The balance is visible on the Stats page and the Bank page. Cash is paid out only when the player withdraws from the Bank page. Lifetime earnings are tracked separately for the leaderboard.

CDL Licensing

Each license tier is a self-contained test booked at the dispatcher.

  1. Player approaches the boss NPC and selects Take CDL Test.
  2. The script presents a 10-question multiple-choice quiz. The player must reach passScore (default 7 of 10).
  3. On a passed quiz, the player is teleported to the driving-test vehicle and trailer combo, with a route of checkpoints.
  4. Drive each checkpoint within timeLimit seconds, taking no more than maxDamage damage to the vehicle.
  5. Pass — physical license item is added with metadata, and the matching flag (cdl_b, cdl_a, hazmat) is set in Qbox player metadata under licences.
  6. Fail — a per-license cooldown begins before the player can retest.

Skill tree progression

Five categories, six ranks each. Skill points are earned alongside XP and spent on the Skills page.

SkillWhat it unlocks
Product Type (ADR)Hazmat contracts
DistanceLonger routes with higher pay
Valuable CargoHigh-value contracts
Fragile CargoReduced fragile-damage penalties
On-Time DeliveryExtra time on timed jobs

XP costs ramp steeply per rank — see Config.Skills[*].xpPerLevel in Configuration.

Damage and timer mechanics

  • Cargo takes damage from rough driving and collisions; the value is deducted from final payout.
  • Fragile contracts apply a 2x damage penalty by default (Config.FragileDamagePenaltyMultiplier).
  • Timed contracts grant a 15% on-time bonus when the delivery beats the timer (Config.OnTimeBonusPercent).
  • Higher ranks of the Fragile and On-Time skills soften penalties and extend timers respectively.

Garage system

  • Buy trucks from the in-NUI Dealership page once the prerequisite license and level are met.
  • Use ox_target on the depot to Take Out Truck or Store Truck.
  • Body and engine health are persisted to medit8z_trucking_owned_trucks on store and on damage events.
  • The My Trucks page shows live diagnostics for the selected vehicle.
  • A destroyed or unrecoverable truck can be retrieved by paying Config.TruckRecoveryFee.

On every server start, all owned trucks are reset to stored = 1. If a player crashes mid-haul, their truck reappears in the garage list when the server next starts.

Commands

  • /cancelcontract — Abandon the active contract. Forfeits payment.
